WALLA WALLA, WA - Zelman Development Co. and Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. officially announced today the anchor tenants to be a part of the retail line-up at Walla Walla Town Center. Located in the heart of Washington’s wine country, the 360,000 square foot community center will be sited at the former Blue Mountain Mall at the intersection of Rose Street, Poplar Street and Myra Road. The center will be the region's largest shopping destination come opening day, scheduled for Spring 2018.
Walla Walla Town Center will be anchored by Bed Bath & Beyond, Famous Footwear, Hobby Lobby, Marshall’s, Ross, Ulta, Shopko, Sportsman’s Warehouse and others yet to be announced. Currently, the center is more than 70% leased and has additional acreage available for future development.
“Leasing activity is in full swing,” said Alan Gottlieb, REA President and co-developer on the project. “We expect to make more tenant announcements later this year and will continue to work on attracting smaller players to complete our leasing program.”
Walla Walla Town Center will be a blend of large national retailers and small local tenants, according to Gottlieb. “Our goal is to create a community center that will benefit from a fast growing economy and a trade area spanning over 50 miles. The closest shopping center of this magnitude is over an hour away in the Tri-Cities. We are eager to bring exciting and desperately needed tenants to the city and citizens of Walla Walla.”
Construction for the open-air center is scheduled to begin this summer. Soon-to-be-released design plans feature a mix of uses including daily needs, shop space for local businesses, and patio areas for dinning. “Walla Walla Town Center is first and foremost a community center,” said Gottlieb. “We are providing a place for people to shop but also a destination for people to come together.”
